Pipette Tips

Pipette tips are disposable attachments designed for use with pipettors and micropipettes to accurately measure and transfer liquids without contamination. Made from high-quality plastic, typically polypropylene or low-density polyethylene, they ensure precision in liquid handling by providing a secure fit onto the pipettor. Pipette tips come in various sizes to accommodate different volume ranges, from microliters to milliliters, and are commonly used in labs for tasks such as preparing samples, performing serial dilutions, and conducting assays in molecular biology, chemistry, and medical diagnostics.

Pipette tips are designed to prevent cross-contamination and maintain the integrity of samples. Some specialized versions include filter tips, which contain barriers to prevent aerosols and liquids from reaching the pipette shaft, reducing the risk of contamination in sensitive applications such as PCR and microbiological testing. Low-retention tips are another variation, designed to minimize liquid adherence to the tip’s surface, ensuring maximum accuracy and reducing sample waste.

A variety of packaging options are available to meet the needs of various laboratory processes. Bulk packaging provides a cost-effective option, where tips are supplied in large bags and must be manually placed into racks before use. Rack packaging offers convenience by organizing tips in trays that allow for easy access while maintaining sterility. Sterile, pre-racked tips are individually packaged or sealed in racks, preventing contamination and making them ideal for applications requiring aseptic conditions. Reload systems offer an eco-friendly alternative, where refillable trays allow for reusing the outer rack while replacing only the tips. The variety of packaging options allow labs to choose the most suitable format based on their workflow, sterility requirements, and budget considerations.
