Platform Shakers
Platform shakers are designed to provide consistent, controlled shaking to a wide range of containers, such as flasks, beakers, and bottles, placed on a flat platform. They are commonly used to mix or agitate liquids, solid samples, or suspensions in scientific and industrial laboratories. The shaker's platform moves in a horizontal, orbital, or reciprocal motion, depending on the shaker type, to ensure uniform mixing and facilitate reactions that require agitation.
In laboratories, platform shakers are widely used in applications such as cell culture, where they maintain uniform distribution of cells in culture flasks; protein extraction, where they help mix reagents and samples efficiently; and sample preparation, where consistent agitation is needed for dissolving or suspending materials. Platform shakers are also used in microbiological research to promote the growth of cultures or to assist in the extraction and mixing of chemical solutions. Their adjustable speed settings and optional temperature control make them versatile tools for handling a wide variety of lab processes that require gentle but effective shaking.
