Chillers & Coolers

Chillers and coolers are used to control and maintain low temperatures, ensuring the proper functioning of processes and equipment that require cooling. Chillers are typically used to cool liquids or gases in closed-loop systems, often incorporating a refrigeration mechanism to reduce the temperature of the coolant, which is then circulated through systems like reactors, heat exchangers, or lab equipment. Recirculating chillers are widely used in applications such as temperature control for chemical reactions, cooling for rotary evaporators, or maintaining the temperature of sensitive biological samples. They provide precise, continuous cooling and help prevent overheating in sensitive processes.

In laboratories, both chillers and coolers are essential for preserving temperature-sensitive materials, such as reagents, enzymes, or biological samples, that need to be stored or processed at low temperatures. For instance, chillers are crucial in cryopreservation, where samples must be cooled rapidly to preserve biological integrity, or in incubation applications where specific, controlled cooling is needed. Coolers also help manage the heat produced by laboratory instruments like vacuum pumps or rotary evaporators, preventing damage or loss of function due to excessive heat buildup. Many chillers and coolers come with features like digital temperature controls, flow rate adjustments, and safety alarms for over-temperature or low-flow conditions, ensuring accurate and reliable cooling in various laboratory environments.
