Canopy Hoods

Canopy hoods are a style of ventilation system commonly used in labs to remove heat, steam, odors, and non-hazardous airborne contaminants. They are typically mounted above workspaces where activities such as heating, boiling, or using various types of lab equipment produce emissions that require removal. Unlike fume hoods, which enclose and actively capture hazardous fumes and particulates, canopy hoods function more like an exhaust system, passively drawing air upward and out through ducting. They are best suited for tasks that involve non-toxic substances but generate high amounts of heat or vapor. By improving air circulation and reducing the risk of exposure to unwanted byproducts, canopy hoods help to maintain a safe and comfortable work environment in laboratories.
